The best junk food ever: Gyros pita

Share

I realized how much I had missed my home country’s junk food, when I came to Finland. I appreciate Finnish food (especially this time of the year when mushrooms, berries and roots thrive); however after a big night out (or sometimes the day after), I have to admit that a heavy oil-dripping pita-wrapped shredded gyros is the best my stomach can have.

If you share my pain (the pain of a great hangover that is), try my gyros recipe below. It’s the simplest thing ever!

Forget all sauces, eat tzatziki!

Share

A tasty, juicy summer (and winter, why not?) sauce, tzatziki is a delicious and uber-easy-to0make alternative if you want to eat something healthy along with your meat or vegetables.

What you’ll need:

  • Greek strained yogurt (2 cups) – I use Total 0%
  • A teaspoon of balsamico
  • 1 small garlic clove (shredded)
  • Quarter of a cucumber
  • A pinch of dill (optional)
  • Olive oil (1 teaspoon)
  • Salt (half a teaspoon)
